The carving at Stone Mountain is well known as the largest bas-relief artwork in the world. But did you know that the 3,200-acre state park is also home to the largest family campground in Georgia? This place has all kinds of options for overnight stays, from a yurt village to camper and RV hookups to tent camping sites. Whether you're a seasoned camper or just testing the waters, there are options for everyone at Stone Mountain Campground. Between the park itself, the amenities at the campground, and the many attractions in nearby Atlanta, there's so much to do!
The yurts are a great option for those looking for a bit of a glamping experience.
These canvas and wood structures sleep up to five guests, and have electrical hookups, furniture, and even Wi-Fi.
There are 250 different RV sites here for those with their own RVs or campers. Sites vary in location and hookup options.
Don't have your own RV? No problem, there are RV rental sites here where you can stay in a lakeside RV without the hassle and cost of owning one!
The safari tents are a great option if you are looking for an option that's a middle ground between traditional tent camping and "glamping."
These canvas structures are already set up, so there's no need to pitch a tent. They've got electricity, but no indoor water access. The safari tents are placed atop a wooden platform and come with a deck, grill, and picnic table.
Don't worry: if you're a traditionalist, you can still pitch a tent the old-fashioned way and set up camp at either a partial hook-up site or a primitive camping site.
This is such a beautiful place: you're right under the majestic and massive Stone Mountain, and many of the camp sites are right by Stone Mountain Lake.
