When most Floridians daydream about the most magical places in their beautiful state, some may picture Disney World's Magic Kingdom, while others might dream about the white sandy beaches of Siesta Key. While both are certainly magical in their own right, we have another place that has been delighting both residents and visitors for many years. Weeki Wachee in FL is one of the smallest towns in the entire United States, but it certainly packs a big punch in terms of entertainment. Check out this stunning town that is seemingly straight out of a fairy tale.
Although it's one of the smallest towns in the country, with a population of only 12 people, Weeki Wachee is a very special place.
It's home to Weeki Wachee Springs (and the state park of the same name), and of course, it's " The Only City of Live Mermaids," in Florida or anywhere else.
There are so many magical places in Florida, from lush gardens to pristine beaches. Perhaps the most beautiful scenery, however, can be found around our crystal-clear springs.
The water is so clear, boats seem to be floating on air, and you can see all of the wildlife that calls the springs home.
The ethereal springs naturally make everything look magical, which makes them the perfect setting for a fantasy attraction like the City of Mermaids.
This park is a dream come true for kids who love fairy tales. The mermaids even hang out on dry land sometimes to meet their fans.
There's a waterpark on-site, too, called Buccaneer Bay. Here, kids can swim and play in the beautiful springs and pretend they have their own fishtail.

You can also experience this enchanting scenery by paddling the Weeki Wachee River.
Also, if you want to add a few more stops to your trip, nearby Spring Hill is home a couple of magical attractions. The exotic animals at the Wildlife Survival Sanctuary are mesmerizing in their own right.
Or take a relaxing stroll through Spring Hill's Nature Coast Gardens, which is free (though donations are appreciated), and open from dawn till dusk, 7 days a week.
