Dogfish Head Brewery has been around for over 20 years now, and it remains the most influential of Delaware's craft beer brewers. With nearly 400% growth at times, Dogfish Head has established itself as the center of Delaware's beer world, and for good reason. The brews created at this "off centered" brewery are often creative, with humorous names, but their real reputation comes from their incredible IPA, renowned throughout the country for quality.
Whether you're a beer drinker or not, though, you really need to tour the Dogfish Head brewery in Milton. It was just recently named one of the top 10 factory tours in America, along with the likes of the Louisville Slugger Factory, Martin Guitars, and Boeing! What makes a Dogfish Head tour so much greater than any standard microbrewer?
When you first pull up, you'll be stunned by the size of this brewery.
The gigantic grain silos can be seen for miles.
Once you're inside, you'll learn what it takes to create the variety of excellent beer that Dogfish Head is known for.
But there's more to it than just that. Dogfish Head's tour is certainly... interesting.
Creative decor lines the walls, and you'll wonder exactly who thinks of these things.
Most importantly, you'll learn how Delaware's largest brewer turned from a tiny operation in Milton into a gigantic, national company.
You'll learn how the beers are fermented, created and bottled.
After all, the most important thing is that these excellent brews make it out into the wild, to be picked up by someone looking for a cold drink.
Let's talk about the Treehouse, too.
This incredible treehouse was plucked from a Burning Man festival and brought right here to Milton, Delaware. The brewmasters spend plenty of time dreaming up their next creations in this Steampunk Treehouse, and you can tour it, too!
Friendly faces can help you stock up at the end of your tour.
Or you could head down to Rehoboth Beach for the Brewpub.
And enjoy the great food presented and paired with excellent Dogfish Head brews.
