You know what winter is like in the First State - just plain awful! In fact, it's so bad, that there's no reason to ever come to Delaware in winter... right? After all:
1. There's nothing to do in the cities...
Wilmington, Newark and Dover are basically ghost towns from December through March.
2. ... and no reason to visit the small towns.
If we can't even keep the cities running, what makes you think there's something to do in the suburbs?
3. What's the point of hiking when it's snowing?
It's all gross, dreary, and slushy. It's not even worth the views, because you won't find any!
4. Everything always looks so drab, and boring.
The color of winter must be grey, because that's all we ever see.
5. Why would you want the beach all to yourself, anyway?
Isn't the point of visiting the beach to see who is the best at navigating the crowds?
6. The days are too short for any amazing sightseeing.
There's never anything worth seeing, because sunrise and sunset are too close together.
7. Even our wildlife won't stick around.
We're a birding state - so where are all the birds? Don't tell me you're entertained by watching thousands of magnificent snow geese from your warm car at Bombay Hook.
8. There isn't even anything to eat.
None of our amazing farm-to-table restaurants switch over to their Winter menus, because really, what's the point?
So there you have it - if you were thinking about visiting Delaware in winter, think again! No reason to visit our state parks, beaches, restaurants or towns, because all you'll find is that everything here is oh-so-boring.
