When's the last time you went on a little adventure outdoors? All around a small Delaware town named Lewes, there are hiking trails to explore. Why not take a hike or three soon? There's at least three great reasons to have a hike out here. When the trail calls, it's time to put your shoes on and answer. All around the small town of Lewes, these 3 hiking trails are a great way to stretch your legs and a great excuse to familiarize yourself with another great little town.
1. Georgetown-Lewes Trail
The Georgetown-Lewes trail is a 12.7-mile out-and-back adventure with great views and a straight path. The trail is paved smooth and usually at least six feet wide, so don't be afraid to bring wheels to tackle the almost 13 miles of trail here.
2. Canal Front Park Marina and 1812 Memorial Trail
This short 0.7-mile trail along the canal is perfect for a short walk to get some fresh air. Also located here is the 1812 Memorial, where you can learn a bit of history on your outing.
3. George H.P. Smith Park Lake Loop Trail
This lake loop trail is only half a mile long, but it holds just as much beauty as any other trail in the area. For those of us with shorter stamina or small kids in tow, this trail is a great excuse to get outdoors for a while.
If you'd like to bookmark 3 hiking trails, you'll want to check out the Georgetown-Lewes Trail, the Canal Front Park Marina and 1812 Memorial Trail, and the George H.P. Smith Park Lake Loop trail pages on Alltrails. On each page, you'll find a trail map, reviews, and even a local weather forecast for the upcoming week so you're always prepared.
