We've got more big cities in Connecticut than people give us credit for. With that being said, the rural communities and small towns in Connecticut are pretty special, too. They may not have all the restaurants and landmarks that you'll find in our big cities, but that doesn't mean they're not worth a visit. One of our favorites is Thompson, a little town tucked away in the Quiet Corner. This northeastern corner of the state gets its nickname thanks to its rural landscapes and lack of large cities, but it's a wonderful getaway for those seeking a peaceful escape. Thompson has a population of just under 10,000, making it not so big that you'll feel anonymous, but not so small that you won't find attractions. There are plenty of fun things to do in Thompson, CT.
