The Nutmeg State's wine industry is growing in leaps and bounds. One of the best wineries in Connecticut is Hopkins Vineyard. This delightful vineyard in Warren is such a quiet, remote spot that's perfect for relaxing and sipping some of the delicious wines crafted here.
2. Mt Tom State Park: Mount Tom Rd, Washington Depot, CT 06794
At Mt. Tom State Park, you can take a short, easy hike to a 34-foot tall lookout tower that will give you incredible views! On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Catskill Mountains in New York.
Arethusa Farm is one of the top dairy farms in Connecticut. A visit here is a sweet treat: you can enjoy homemade ice cream that's absolutely delightful. Choose from a cone, cup, or even a milkshake.
4. White Memorial Conservation Center: 80 Whitehall Rd, Litchfield, CT 06759
The White Memorial Conservation Center is a nature lover's dream! This 4,000-acre area boasts wetlands, forests, and fields. There are more than 40 miles of trails, so there's plenty to explore!
The Litchfield Hills area is such a gorgeous region of the state with so much to see and do, especially when it comes to getting outdoors. Whether you choose to enjoy these places individually or on a brief road trip, they're all worth a visit!

Sure, I'm well aware that my "to read" list is getting completely out of hand and unless I quit working, socializing, and pretty much all aspects of my life that aren't reading, I have no hope of ever finishing it. Bennett's Books is one of those delightful little shops that makes you remember the joys of in-person shopping. I think we're probably all guilty of a little too much online ordering, but this place is so cozy and comfortable that it's hard not to fall in love the second you walk in the door!
No list of bookstores in Connecticut would be complete without mentioning The Book Barn in Niantic, and that's where we'll end our trip. There are actually three separate locations for this massive store, but we're focusing on the main one on this road trip.
This multi-building store houses more than 500,000 books, plus other fun attractions, like art installations and gardens. It doesn't get much better than a visit here!
