Connecticut is small, and it's one of the most densely-populated states in the country. Luckily for us, there's still an abundance of natural spots throughout the state. You can find trails and parks all over the Nutmeg State - in fact, about 60% of Connecticut is made up of forests! That means there's green space in well over half our state, so you can always find somewhere to escape into nature, even in our biggest cities. If you're looking for one of the most peaceful towns in Connecticut, though, it doesn't get much better than Weston, CT. This little town in Fairfield County has around 10,000 residents, plenty of history, very little crime, and lots of natural beauty. Check it out:
Weston is home to Devil's Den Preserve. This peaceful spot is the largest preserve in Fairfield County, spanning more than 1,700 acres. It's an incredibly beautiful day trip during the fall, but it's definitely worth a visit in any season.

Trout Brook Valley Preserve is another refuge within Weston. This 730-acre preserve spans into nearby Easton.

The Onion Barn, built in 1830, is a local landmark in Weston. It's right on the edge of a park and gets its name from the fact it was once used to store onions.
Weston is one of the safest towns in Connecticut. The violent crime rate is quite low here, as is the property crime rate.
