No matter the time of year, there is always something to see and do in Colorado, thanks to our world-famous mountains, rolling plains, wine country, and dazzling cities. When it comes to warm weather, however, there is one place in particular to be, which is the one and only Canon City:
Located in central Colorado, Canon City is a town of nearly 17,500 residents that boasts some of the best attractions in the state!
Like many towns of its time, Canon City was laid out as a mining camp; however, unlike many towns of its time, instead of becoming obsolete, Canon City continued to grow and flourish into the community it is today.
When you visit, you will be treated to a slew of attractions, including the world-famous Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, Royal Gorge Route Railroad, Museum of Colorado Prisons, Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, and more.
In addition to these exciting attractions, there is plenty to see and do around town, too, including shopping and antiquing, dining, galleries, museums, and scenic drives.
If you are looking for something to do outdoors, you have come to the right place, as Canon City also houses heart-pounding white water river rafting, hiking and biking, camping, and guided Jeep tours.
While there is never a bad time to visit Canon City, we happen to like these warmer months the best, as Canon City has the best weather in the state with its low humidity, 255+ sunny days per year, and cooler temperatures in the summer.
