The weather has grown colder, but that doesn't stop us Clevelanders from getting out and having a good time, especially right now, as we grow closer to the holiday season. Holiday festivities have already sprung up across Northeast Ohio, adding a magical sense of cheer to the region. Locals, however, are only talking about the biggest and best events and annual traditions. Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad has long been a beloved attraction in the region, but it's wintertime events are always eagerly anticipated. These events are infused with magic, bringing out and delighting your inner child and endowing you with an unshakable sense of holiday cheer.
Each year, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park becomes a genuine winter wonderland, and there is no better way to experience its splendor than via train.
Fortunately, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad knows just how to make spirits bright. They offer a number of wintertime events that are out-of-this-world.
The fun begins November 18, when Mr. Jingeling's Holiday Jubilee departs from the Akron Northside Station at 10:55 a.m.
That same day, you can depart from Rockside Station in Independence or Akron Northside Station to embark on a Christmas Tree Adventure at the breathtaking Heritage Tree Farms.
These two charming themed excursions continue through the end of November, but then things get truly magical.
Beginning November 24 and continuing throughout December is an epic adults-only Ugly Sweater Holiday Train Ride, which promises special prizes to some of the ugliest sweater wearers on board.
Each year, the charming stations and select trains are decorated with festive figures to take locals on a trip via the Polar Express. These tickets sell out far in advance, so there may be only a few remaining spots on this ride.
If you're feeling especially adventurous, you can always consider booking a holiday party for a festive celebration that your loved ones will never forget.
Or, you may find that there are spectacular upcoming events that your family and friends will love.
Consider buying tickets, as they make great gifts!
The holiday cheer amidst these fantastic events is infectious, so if you're planning a train excursion this season, prepare for an experience you will cherish for years to come.
Nothing quite compares to the majesty of Cleveland's own Cuyahoga Valley National Park, but it becomes something even more stunning in the colder months. For many, the Polar Express is a beloved holiday tradition, and many others are just now discovering the railroad's incredible holiday festivities. It is never too late to begin a new tradition, and this truly is the most magical place to do it!
