Our city is perfectly located near many excellent options for quick trips, and we've shared a few favorites, like this charming town in nearby Indiana and this unique town just 90 minutes north of Cincy. Georgetown, Kentucky is a charming southern town located just a short drive from Cincinnati that makes for a picture-perfect day trip from the Queen City and is a wonderful option to add to your list.
Georgetown, Kentucky is a historic town that is situated perfectly between Cincinnati, Lexington, and Louisville, making it a great day trip destination in our region.
Its charming downtown is like stepping into a romance novel set in a small southern town, and the atmosphere and people are extremely friendly and welcoming.
On your way to Georgetown, consider taking the back roads for a beautifully scenic drive. When you do arrive in town, head straight to downtown, which is just too enchanting for words. This quintessential small town has a number of shops and restaurants, perfect for wandering, and there are often events held within the town for you to enjoy.
After some exploring, you'll want a bite to eat.

This family-owned BBQ joint serves up mouthwatering food in the friendliest environment around.
Other favorite local options include Fat Kats Pizzeria, Local Feed, and Galvin's on Main. For a small town, Georgetown has several delicious choices for a great meal!
For a laid-back afternoon, another great local destination is the Country Boy Brewing Taproom.
Located on Corporate Blvd., you can taste some of the locally created craft beers and even grab some food at a food truck on the weekends. If wine is more your style, visit the nearby Three Horses Vineyard & Winery for delicious wine in an unforgettable setting.
You can't visit Georgetown without taking advantage of its stunning horse country, and the best place to visit is Old Friends Retired Thoroughbred Farm.
This peaceful farm is home to over 100 retired horses and they are quite the sight to behold. You can take a tour of the farm and learn all about these amazing animals.
Try and drive back through downtown Georgetown one last time before you head home.
