Madison was founded in 1809 and began to thrive thanks to the growth of the steamboat industry. If you love history, Madison is the ultimate destination with 133 blocks on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the town continues to thrive as what many consider the most beautiful small town in the Midwest.
