Weaverville is a quiet town in Trinity County that is rich both in outdoor enjoyment and Gold Rush history. It may just surprise you what this tight-knit community has to offer!
Founded in 1850, Weaverville was a true Gold Rush NorCal town that was once home to approximately 2,000 Chinese gold miners. Walking through the town today, you'll see plenty of reminders of the town's Old West heritage.
History buffs have a lot to explore in and around Weaverville for a small-town getaway in NorCal. One must-see destination is the Joss House, California's oldest Chinese temple.
It was established as a state park in 1956 and currently displays pictures, art objects, mining tools, and other artifacts dating back to the 19th century.
After spending the morning delving into history, you can enjoy an afternoon of exploring downtown Weaverville!
Filled with small businesses including a quilt shop, coffee cafe, bead store, gift shops, and antique stores, you'll have plenty to see and do in this quaint town center.
