1. Point St. George Beach
2. Hidden Beach
This small cove beach is located near Klamath and is a real treat. It's tucked into a tree covered hillside and features lots of driftwood. Because it requires a hike to get to, you likely won't see many others here.
3. Orick Fishing Access Beach
Located within the Redwood National Park, this little known beach features endless piles of drift logs and several large rocks. You'll love walking up and down this breathtaking coastline.
4. Luffenholtz Beach
Luffenholtz is a picture perfect Humboldt County beach. Located near Trinidad, visitors here should take in the sweeping overlook of the Pacific Ocean, enjoy the picnic area and hike the trail down to the beach.
5. Mattole River Beach
Manchester State Park features sand dunes, a flat grassland, and approximately 18,000 feet of oceanfront. The beach here is a "catch basin," a curved beach that catches sea debris. Because of this, there is a high volume of driftwood to be found here. It’s an excellent spot for steelhead fishing and wildflower viewing.
7. Fort Ross / Sandy Beach Cove
Sandy Beach Cove is located just below Fort Ross. It’s a sandy beach with clear water, and is a lovely place to spend the afternoon. The parking is located a short walk away, but those with accessibility challenges can unload closer to the beach and then re-park the car.
8. Goat Rock Beach
This Sonoma County beach is a regular resting ground for seagulls, sea otters, elephant seals, harbor seals, and sea lions. It's a quintessential Northern California beach surrounded by beauty.
9. McClures Beach
10. Kehoe Beach
Also located in Point Reyes, Kehoe beach is a geologist's delight with its interesting sandstone and granite rocks. To reach it, you'll walk less than a mile alongside a marsh and over sand dunes.
11. Limantour Beach
Located in Point Reyes National Seashore, Limantour Beach is a long, narrow spit of sand between Drakes Bay and an estuary. It's a great place for birdwatching.
