Here in Arkansas, we take Christmas seriously. All our small towns and major cities come alive in the best way during the season. But there is one town that really shines at Christmastime and that town is Searcy in White County. From the town square to the festive storefronts to the local parks and more, the entire community is brimming with holiday cheer. So, of course, the town is worth visiting, but while you’re there, you must visit Berryhill Park. This incredible, festive Christmas park in Arkansas comes alive in the most spectacular way, featuring thousands of twinkling lights. It's where all the magic of the season happens, and if you ask me, this park is worth the trip to Searcy every year.
Recognized by Southern Living as the “Ultra-Festive Christmas Town,” it’s easy to see why Searcy is one of the best Christmas towns in Arkansas.
Each year, the town goes above and beyond to bring Christmas joy to locals and visitors alike. The wholesome celebration includes lighting ceremonies, story time with Santa, Christmas parades, and everything in between.
And while the entire town is overflowing with the spirit of the holiday, it’s especially evident inside Berryhill Park, a local community park, that comes alive in the most festive way.
The park lights up spectacularly for the holiday, and it attracts hundreds of folks each year. Inside you’ll find a winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights as far as the eye can see.
There is a replica of the town square, a pretty fountain, Christmas characters, as well as a large Christmas tree that is illuminated in a lighting ceremony.
Moreover, you'll love the charming Painted Tree Forest featuring Christmas trees that are hand painted by locals wanting to spread yuletide joy.
Folks of all ages can experience the true spirit of Christmas, and the kids will love meeting Santa and taking pictures next to his VW van.
Of course, there will be lots of other places to take pictures to capture these fond holiday memories.
Other community parks including Yancey and Spring Park will also showcase dazzling lights as well as host festive holiday fun. So, I recommend stopping by while you’re there. Season's greetings y'all!!!
