A self-guided adventure in Arkansas is a great way to get to know the state, but if you’d rather trust your adventure to the experts, you can find plenty of opportunities here. From caves to lakes to bears (oh my!), here are twelve tours that everyone needs to take in Arkansas:

1. Blanchard Springs Caverns (Fifty-Six)

The Dripstone Trail through Blanchard Springs Caverns takes about an hour and has a few benches where you can rest if you get too tired. With strong assistance, the trail can be navigated by strollers and wheelchairs. The Discovery Trail takes an hour and a half and has 700 steps, so maybe don’t take that one if you have health problems.

2. Duck Tours (Hot Springs)

The Duck Tour in Hot Springs allows you to sit while you tour. You’ll travel through downtown Hot Springs, on Highway 7 South, and onto Lake Hamilton. On a Hot Springs Duck Tour, you get to see the best of the resort town, by land and on the water.

3. Lake Chicot State Park (Lake Village)

The park offers many tours that offer incredible views of this gorgeous lake on the delta. You can catch glimpses of the wildlife on a lake tour, or a levee tour. And look at all the glorious trees there.

4. Little Rock Sightseeing Tour

This group tour offers insight into the history of our state capital. The bus is complete with video that instructs about the features seen along the way. This tour is for large groups and costs $25 per person. You’ll see the historic Quapaw Quarter, the Governor’s Mansion, and the Old Mill in North Little Rock.

5. Belle of Hot Springs

You can dine, enjoy, and even get married onboard the Belle of Hot Springs. This old riverboat takes you around the gorgeous Lake Hamilton. The lunch cruise is about an hour and fifteen minutes long, and the sunset dinner cruise is two hours long.

6. Downtown ‘N Underground Tour (Eureka Springs)

To view both the historic beauty of downtown Eureka Springs and its amazing basements, try the Downtown ‘N Underground Tour of Eureka Springs. Each tour is led by a local expert who will recount the history of the sites, and the tour is not strenuous so just about anyone can do it.

7. Wine Tours (Altus)

If you’re looking for some adult fun, try the wine tours at the wineries in Altus. Post Winery, Wiederkehr Wine Cellars, Mount Bethel Winery, and Chateau Aux Arc can make for one fun day.

8. Hot Springs Haunted Tours

These walking tours begin at 8 p.m., and take you through the tales of the most haunted spots in Hot Springs. The tours last 90 minutes.

9. Cosmic Cavern Tour (Berryville)

The cave tour at Cosmic Caverns takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. The pace is slow and the cave is breathtaking. It’s always 64 degrees, too.

10. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge Tour (Eureka Springs)

Just seven short miles from Eureka Springs, Turpentine Creek is a rescue devoted to big cats. There you’ll find lions and tigers and bears (oh my!). The walking tours are guided by zoology or biology interns, and it's only about a half mile of walking.

11. Eureka Springs Tram Tour

Tours start at Trolley Stop #1 and take about 85 minutes to complete. Along the way, you’ll stop twice - once at the 1886 Crescent Hotel and once at Grotto Springs.

12. Toltec Mounds Tram Tour (Scott)

There’s also a walking tour, but the tram tours allow you to view the ancient mounds from your own seat on the tram. Along the way, park interpreters will teach you about the mounds.
