The humans living there only constitute 91 souls, but the natural wonders there are basically innumerable. Ponca is a gorgeous part of the Ozarks and a gateway to the Buffalo National River, making it hands down one of the most scenic towns in the Natural State. If you want to immerse yourself in natural beauty, the teeny tiny town of Ponca is the perfect place to go.

And by incredibly scenic, I mean the ideal place to spend a day exploring.
And, of course, Boxley Valley is right near Hawksbill Crag.
Arkansas’s only herd of elk is known to hang around the fields near Ponca.
There’s even a place where you can go to learn about the elk, totally free of charge.
A lot of Ponca’s draw has to do with the Buffalo National River . . .
