We'll admit right off the bat, we may be a bit biased. Even so, we think Hot Springs National Park is one of the best parks in the country.
The area was the very first in the country to be federally protected, thanks to President Andrew Jackson in 1832. The "special reservation" officially became a national park in 1921. That's because it encompasses most of the downtown area of the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas!
The area may have modernized in 100 years' time, but the essence of the park is well-preserved.
The park's main resource is the bubbling, mineral-rich waters of multiple hot springs. These hot springs in Arkansas have been beloved for thousands of years. They've been used by Native Americans, explorers, and tourists alike for their healing properties and soothing capabilities. These 47 hot springs can be enjoyed in a number of ways. Soak in the springs along Bathhouse Row, touch one of the thermal springs bubbling out of the ground, or you can even drink from the springs. There's so much to do here!
