Spring isn’t over yet, though it won’t be too long until we’re lamenting the too-hot weather of the sweltering Arkansas summer. So, for your money, what’s the perfect day trip to take in the springtime? You could go to explore nature in Jasper or window shop in Eureka Springs, for sure. You could go fishing in Cotter or visit our capital city. I’m going to make an argument that the very best day trip you can take this spring is to Hot Springs.
You can find directions to Hot Springs here.
There are some things you can do in Hot Springs that you just can’t do anywhere else in the Natural State.
You can’t enjoy Bathhouse Row anywhere else, for example.
Bathhouse Row is located on Central Avenue.
And Oaklawn can deliver an entire afternoon of horse racing and gaming, which isn’t exactly on every street corner here in Arkansas.
Oaklawn Racing & Gaming is located at 2705 Central Avenue.
You’re going to love exploring the downtown area. Shops, museums, and attractions are everywhere.
You can even take a lovely Duck Tour of Lake Hamilton and the national park.
Strolling through the Grand Promenade is never better than when the green of spring is all around.
And we can’t forget that you’ll have the opportunity to explore the gorgeous hot springs themselves.
The view from the Hot Springs Mountain Tower is also extraordinarily beautiful in the spring.
The tower is pretty scenic even from a distance, actually.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is located at 401 Hot Springs Mountain Drive in Hot Springs.
Most of the things you’ll find in Hot Springs are unlike any other place in the Natural State
There aren’t very many alligator farm/petting zoo combos in the world, after all.
You can find Arkansas Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo at 847 Whittington Avenue in Hot Springs National Park.
Hot Springs also has great barbecue. If you're looking for some other incredible day trip options, click here.
