Chicago Bulls Scottie Pippen 1995
This hometown hero came from right here in Arkansas.
Considered as one of the greatest small forwards of all time, he played 17 seasons and won 6 NBA championships along the way.
And the town of Hamburg was cheering him on the whole time.
As the youngest child of 12 siblings, he attended Hamburg High School, where he played basketball. From there, he moved on to the University of Central Arkansas, where he became a dominant player on his team.
After hard work and dedication, he became the number 5 pick for the Chicago Bulls, and as they say...the rest was history. That high school basketball court just might be lucky.
Today, this former NBA player is a local as well as an international legend. And in his hometown of Hamburg, his name as well as images can be seen throughout the town.
Be sure to check out the living mural in the town’s Square, just across from the local post office. There you’ll see Pippen holding down his spot on the beautiful artwork.
