If Arkansas' towns ever had an award ceremony there's no doubt that Eureka Springs would win "most spirited." After all, this is the place that goes all-out for St. Patrick's Day, Mardi Gras, and Halloween. For decades, the entire town of Eureka Springs has wholeheartedly celebrated the holidays and this festive season will be the best yet. For all 31 days of December, folks can explore this magical Christmas town. Let's stroll through town and see some of the festive events that will be happening this coming month.
Eureka Springs is the perfect large scale advent calendar since the town has a different holiday event nearly every day of December.
In less than two weeks the entire town of Eureka Springs will transform into a Christmas wonderland. Hints of this seasonal magic have already popped up around town but it's certainly not too late to plan a trip.
Before December even begins, Eureka Springs will kick off the holiday season with a parade.
The Christmas Parade of Lights is a mesmerizing procession of floats, costumed performers, and live music all wrapped up in thousands of lights. The downtown parade will begin at 6 pm. For more information, you can follow the Facebook Event right here.
The first day of December will transport folks back to a magical Christmas past.
The 36th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes is a walking tour through the beautifully decorated historic district. Guides will be wearing period-appropriate costumes and recounting the houses' history for each stop along the way. The tour takes place from 3 - 8 pm. For tickets and more information, you can follow the Facebook Event right here.
Not every event happening this month will be a one-day only affair. You'll have nearly the whole month to plan a visit to the Christmas Tree Forest.
The forest "sprouts" in the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa's garden beginning Dec. 3rd, 2018. More than 30 trees will be decorated by local charity groups and donations will be taken to vote for the best tree. Every charity will receive their voter's donations and the top three winners will earn an additional bonus from the hotel. The forest will be on display until the 1st. For more information about the forest and all of the Crescent’s Christmas activities, you can follow their Facebook Page right here.
Most all of the town's events are family oriented but there's one particular night where adults can let their inner child run wild.
The Night of 1000 Santas is a ridiculously fun downtown pub crawl. Folks can dress either as a nice Santa or naughty Krampus and participate in the scavenger hunt for a chance to win a trip package back to Eureka Springs. Anyone that wants to join in on the scavenger/crawl will need to download a free app that will keep track of points throughout the night. For more information and tickets, you can visit this site.
No matter if you're taking a day trip to stroll the decorated streets or planning to attend one of the many festive events, Eureka Springs is a splendid Christmas wonderland to visit.
The events mentioned today are only the highlights for a full month of activities. Concerts, holiday markets, and living art exhibits are just some of the other happenings in December. To see the full calendar of festive events, you can visit this site.
