Earlier this week we sang our praises for Walnut Ridge being the most musical town in the state. Another town has earned bragging rights as well, Eureka Springs is without a doubt the most artistic town in Arkansas. From its unique buildings to residential statues, this town celebrates all forms of art. Let's get inspired to create as we walk around this artistic enclave.
As soon as you start strolling through the main thoroughfares, you'll notice some colorful features.
The whole architecture of the town is appealing, like at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church...
...or at the Thorncrown Chapel.
Even just the gazebo has artistic flare.
Little hints of whimsical creativity can be found throughout the town.
Art is celebrated in different festivals and parades throughout the year.
Like during the month-long Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts.
Art can be found in the numerous galleries around town...
...but it's not uncommon to see a booth set up, no matter the occasion.
This one was from the Eureka Springs Historical Museum’s 8th annual "Voices from Eureka's Silent City" cemetery walking tour.
There's no shortage of traditional artists in the town but Eureka Springs also has plenty of musical artists...
...and non-traditional creators as well.
Artists have even colonized the town!
The Art Colony is a splendid studio community that offers common space and workshops for those interested in cultivating their creativity.
No matter the form, style, or location, Eureka Springs is our favorite artistic town.
