Whether you're a history buff, nature lover, foodie, or some combination of the three, Snowflake is one of the best small towns in Arizona to visit. This close-knit community is home to mountains, canyons, historic homes, great restaurants, and even a seasonal farm. You just may want to pack up and move here after experiencing the magic!
Not only is the small town of Snowflake, Arizona a great place to live, work, and raise a family, but it's also the perfect destination for a getaway.
Home to around 5,500 people, Snowflake was settled by Mormon pioneers in the late 1800s. History buffs will love the town's Historic Homes Walking Tour, which includes 26 homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
There is also plenty for nature lovers to do in Snowflake. Summit the nearly 6,000-foot-high Fourmile Knoll, or take a scenic hike through the breathtaking Five Mile Canyon.
Located about five miles north of the town center, this stunning natural wonder is filled with unique rock formations and ancient petroglyphs. Some are, unfortunately, not authentic, but just as many are!
All that exploring tends to work up an appetite, so it's a good thing Snowflake is packed with delicious restaurants like The Skillet Cafe.
This no-frills eatery dishes out some of the best homestyle fare in the state, from chicken-fried steak to burgers that are so big, you need both hands just to pick them up.
If your visit happens to fall during spooky season, be sure to add the Willis Farm to your itinerary. Their annual October festivities, including a pumpkin patch and corn maze (plus a special haunted corn maze after dark) never disappoint.
