Today, we’re going to check out one tiny Arizona town that has a surprising number of delicious restaurants and you just might find your next favorite haunt there.
Widely considered Arizona’s most haunted town, Jerome covers less than one square mile on Cleopatra Hill and has a population of roughly 450 people. This, however, hasn’t stopped a large number of mouthwatering restaurants from setting up shop!
Jerome likely has all the tourists to thank for the influx of high quality restaurants. Hundreds of people regularly flock to the small town daily for its historic buildings and supposedly haunted locations, which has resulted in a dozen or so restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and wineries to open their doors.
Let’s take a look at a few of these restaurants, starting with the Asylum located inside the haunted Jerome Grand Hotel. This restaurant overlooks the town from the general hospital turned haunted hotel and has won a wide number of awards over the years.
Here, you can enjoy everything from a simple pastrami sandwich to a heckin’ good pork tenderloin that will impress your taste buds.
The Haunted Hamburger is another Jerome favorite that may also be haunted. The restaurant owners reported their tools moving, doors slamming unexpectedly, and distinct smells in the stairwell.
But the ghosts that linger in the building aren’t the only reason to visit. The restaurant is known for its menu of delicious burgers and delectable handspun milkshakes, some with a bit of booze added for flavor.
Hopefully, you aren’t too disappointed by what you won’t find on the menu at The Bordello of Jerome. This restaurant was once a bordello during the town’s mining heydays, but these days you’ll find just food and drinks on the menu.
It not only pays homage to the working ladies of Jerome’s past but also serves some mighty tasty food with some punny menu names.
It takes a keen eye to find this little restaurant hidden underground but the search is worth it! The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a decent drink menu. The coffee, by the way, is excellent!
The Flatiron is located right at the intersection of Main and Hull, which led to the triangular shape of this building that looks like an iron. The coffee shop serves smooth lattes, delicious pastries, and sandwiches.
