It should come as no surprise to anyone that Arizona is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. Do you know what else is beautiful? Our small towns! Here are a few that live up to the expectation of a picturesque small town. See if you agree that the following is a list of some of the most beautiful small towns in Arizona.
1. Bisbee
Our list of some of the most beautiful small towns in Arizona takes us to Bisbee. This old mining town is well-known for its preservation and reconstruction of old buildings. That love and care certainly shows because it is a lovely town to visit (and I'm sure to live in)! There are a lot of small details in the town that show off its history and the current art community. Bisbee might just one one of the most unique small towns in Arizona.
2. Cottonwood
This town sits in the heart of the Verde Valley next to plenty of other towns that are equally picturesque. If you visit, you will want to check out the historic district that gives an Old West atmosphere. Plus, Cottonwood is tucked away in the heart of Arizona wine country.
3. Greer
Greer's mountainside location makes any picture here beautiful and its small town charm creates a wonderful experience for visitors. No wonder it's such a popular vacation spot for Arizonans! Greer is positively surrounded by natural wonders in Arizona.
4. Jerome
Jerome is another former mining town that managed to survive and thrive into the 21st century. Today it's not only known for its historical beauty, but also as a vacation destination and as one of the most haunted places in Arizona.
5. Patagonia
Small and just a few miles away from the border, Patagonia sits in a valley and almost looks as if it isn't even within the boundaries of the Sonoran Desert. It is a great little escape from either the summer heat or the winter snow.
6. Pine-Strawberry
These two little mountain towns that sit not far from each other along the Mogollon Rim and the surrounding forest landscape aren't the only things that make these towns picturesque. The buildings and homes within the town look like they were plucked straight from a quaint miniature village. You'll find there's plenty to do in this unique area of Arizona.
7. Pinetop-Lakeside
Hey, another adorable little mountainside town. Sitting near the White Mountains, Pinetop-Lakeside is a picture perfect location, especially this time of year when the snow is coming in. Pinetop-Lakeside is definitely one of the coolest small towns in Arizona.
8. Williams
Sitting just a little more than a half hour west of Flagstaff, Williams is one of the Route 66 towns that was able to survive the dissolution of the highway, in part because Interstate 40 was placed along the same route. Because of this Route 66 history and location along the railroad, Williams has plenty of photo opportunities.
9. Winslow
Last but not least on our list of the most beautiful small towns in Arizona is Winslow. My mom is from the Winslow area, so I've seen this town slowly start to get back on its feet over the last few decades. Like Williams mentioned above, Route 66 brought people into town originally but since Interstate 40 actually by-passes most of the town, it struggled to thrive. However, the town has made an effort to renovate itself and that is showing.
