You'll find Tangle Lakes near Paxton, 21 miles up the Denali Highway. The lakes are spread over 16 miles, connected by wild streams full of fish. The lakes are crystal clear and perfect floating and fishing.

2. Winterlake Lodge: The Remote Getaway Surrounded By Natural Beauty
This stunning lodge is located right on the Iditarod National Historic Trail. It includes a lodge, five cabins, a sauna and a lake. You can only get there by float plane. Once you're there, you can fish, hike and canoe on the lake.

You'll find Canyon City Campground in the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, along the Chilkoot Trail. Hike along the trail for 7.5 miles to get to this pretty campground. Warm up next to the warming shelter's stove, then snuggle in for an overnight stay.

National Geographic magazine named Fairbanks the single best place in the entire world to view the Northern lights. Depending on the time of year you visit, you'll experience temperatures ranging from 40 below zero to a downright balmy 90 degrees.
