Abbeville is the county seat of Henry County, Alabama. Founded in 1823, it's one of the state's most charming small towns.
Like most small towns, Abbeville has a historic downtown that's filled with all kinds of shops that have stood the test of time and will remind you of yesteryear.
There's even a historic theater that was once a gathering spot for local teens.
When it comes to food, Huggin' Molly's doesn't disappoint! Even though this restaurant isn't historic, it'll still take you back in time thanks to its retro 50s decor.
Ruby's is a cafeteria-style restaurant in Abbeville that's located inside of a historic house. Since opening for business, it's become a popular place to enjoy delicious down-home cooking.
And finally, while driving through the town of Abbeville, you can't help but notice all of the beautiful historic buildings that are still standing today, including the Abbeville United Methodist Church, which was built in 1896.
There's also the Bethune-Kennedy House, which was built by a local physician around 1840. This is the town's oldest building. Today, this historic cottage-style home is owned by the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce.
