A short walk from Mountain Laurel Inn is DeSoto Falls, one of Alabama's most stunning waterfalls. DeSoto Falls is a 104-foot waterfall that's located on the West Fork of the Little River. It's also one of the South's most recognized waterfalls.
You'll definitely want to stop by Mentone Market during your stay. This old fashioned roadside store not only offers a variety of food and a place to gas up your car, but it's also a place where you can mingle with the locals and learn everything there is to know about the charming town of Mentone.

From burgers and steaks, to salads and soups, Wildflower Cafe offers a little bit of everything. This quaint cafe serves up the most delicious food in a fun and casual environment. It was voted "Best Cafe in the State" by Alabama Magazine, and it was featured in Southern Living's “100 Places to Eat Before You Die” for its delicious Tomato Pie.

No fall getaway is complete without a trip to Aunt Fanny's Fudge. Aunt Fanny's Fudge is the go-to shop in Mentone for freshly-squeezed lemonade, gourmet coffees and a variety of sweet treats. The fudge is incredible and a definite must try.

Mentone is home to many unique shops. One shop in particular that's popular among tourists and locals is Big Mill Co. Artisans & Antiques. This shop is actually located in Fort Payne, which just so happens to be right outside of Mentone. People who visit Mentone are always finding themselves here. Big Mill Co.
