1. Anniston Museum of Natural History - Anniston
Your road trip will begin at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. The Anniston Museum of Natural History has more than 2,000 natural history items on permanent display, including fossils. The museum's Dynamic Earth exhibit features life-sized casts of dinosaurs, in addition to other animals. This exhibit is a must-see for anyone interested in dinosaurs.
2. McWane Science Center - Birmingham
You'll then take a short drive to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham. The McWane Science Center is a science museum, an aquarium, and an IMAX Dome Theater. It's one of the best museums in Alabama, and its Alabama Dinosaurs exhibit showcases real fossils that were found throughout the state.
3. Alabama Museum of Natural History - Tuscaloosa
Your next stop will be at the Alabama Museum of Natural History in Tuscaloosa. Founded in 1831, the Alabama Museum of Natural History is the state's oldest museum. Located in Smith Hall at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, this natural history museum has an exhibit where visitors will learn all about the Age of Dinosaurs.
4. Dinosaur Adventure Land - Repton
You'll then take a drive south to Dinosaur Adventure Land. Dinosaur Adventure Land is a Christian theme park in the tiny town of Repton. In addition to it being a science center and museum, it's also a campground. Admission is free.
5. "Dinosaurs in the Woods" - Elberta
Your road trip will end at Barber Marina's "Dinosaurs in the Woods." Barber Marina is located in Elberta, one of Alabama's quirkiest towns. A popular attraction that's part of Barber Marina is "Dinosaurs in the Woods." This attraction includes four lifelike dinosaur statues that are tucked away in a wooded area.
