1. Gulf Shores Public Beach
You'll begin your road trip at Gulf Shores Public Beach. This beach is best known for its cleanliness and being family friendly. While at this beach, you'll be able to dip your toes in the sugar-white sand and take a swim in the turquoise clear water. It'll be a fun time for all!
2. Flip Flop Deli Shop

After spending the morning at Gulf Shores Public Beach, you'll visit Flip Flop Deli Shop for lunch. This casual restaurant is well known for its delicious deli sandwiches. You can visit Flip Flop Deli Shop at 524 W Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
3. Matt's Homemade Alabama Ice Cream
Following lunch, you'll take a short drive to Matt's Homemade Alabama Ice Cream - the town's only homemade ice cream shop. On any given day, you can always count on this ice cream shop having 40+ tasty flavors to choose from. From ice cream cones and banana splits, to old-fashioned sodas and milkshakes, there's something for everyone at Matt's Homemade Alabama Ice Cream. You can visit Matt's Homemade Alabama Ice Cream at two locations in Gulf Shores: 1308 Gulf Shores Pkwy and 701 Gulf Shores Pkwy.
4. Dauphin Island
After finishing your ice cream, you'll take a scenic drive to Dauphin Island. The drive is just under 90 miles. Dauphin Island is a charming town that's located at the southernmost point of Alabama. It's often referred to as the "Sunset Capital of Alabama."
5. Fort Gaines
After driving around town and taking in the sights, you'll stop at Fort Gaines. Fort Gaines is a historic fort that was established in 1821. It's best known for its role in the Battle of Mobile Bay. 6. JT's Sunset Grill
