Texas is full of gorgeous hikes and breathtaking swimming holes, but not often do we see the two combined in one convenient location. Twin Falls in Austin's Barton Creek Greenbelt is exactly that, and its beauty will blow you away.
The Greenbelt has many trails of varying difficulties and lengths, but Twin Falls is arguably the most popular. Families and friends love to congregate on this huge rocky platform and spend the day alternating between lounging in the sun and taking a dip.
It's a 3.7 mile round-trip hike with an elevation gain of less than 150 feet, so feel free to bring the kiddos and pets (on a leash, of course!) along. The entire family will enjoy making unforgettable memories at this beautiful place.
Technically, there are three falls you'll encounter on the path: these Twin Falls that flow right next to one another, and Sculpture Falls, which is a bit further down the trail and looks like a mini version of the Water Wall in Houston. Truly breathtaking sights to behold, y'all.
Bonus points if you go after a substantial amount of rainfall. Not only will that ensure Barton Creek will be full enough for swimming, but the greenery surrounding it will also be so much more vibrant than if you visited during a dry spell.
It's truly amazing to see what Mother Nature is capable of creating, and we are so blessed to have the amount of gorgeous natural scenery that we do here in Texas. These waterfalls are definitely some of the most beautiful in the state, and they deserve a spot on everyone's 2018 bucket list.

The entrance to the Greenbelt is located at 3755 S Capital of Texas Hwy B, Austin, TX 78704.
