Hobbit house Airbnbs in Texas are more common than you might think, but they’re not all created equal. These four vacation rentals are the best of the best in terms of amenities, decor, and overall ambiance. I can promise that each one promises an unforgettable overnight stay!
1. Hobbit Treehouse w/ Waterfall on the River (Weatherford)
This quaint hobbit treehouse is situated right along the banks of the Brazos River at Fuller's Folly River Ranch in Weatherford. Sleeping up to six guests, it's ideal for families, boasting two bedrooms and a twin bunk room, a 15-foot deck with waterfall views, kayaks and paddleboards, a grill, and more.
The interior can only be described as magical, with gorgeous natural details and woodland creatures like gnomes and fairies hiding around every corner. Guests enjoy a full kitchen plus a large bathroom with a rainfall shower, and the twin bunk beds even have space underneath for building a fort!
A private hot tub on the deck invites you to soak all of your worries away. There's also a firepit for homemade s'mores! Beyond the treehouse itself, you'll have access to a variety of ranch activities, including a petting zoo (complete with fresh eggs you can take!), axe throwing, river access, and more.
You'll find it hard to believe you're in the largest city in Texas when you stay in this adorable hobbit house in Houston. Tolkien fan or not, you can't help but feel enchanted by the home's magical aura.
The attention to detail is truly remarkable, with round doors and windows (and even a round fireplace!), a built-in reading nook, intricate millwork, and shelves filled with the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
You'll find a full kitchen stocked with all of the essentials, plus a cozy loft bedroom that sleeps up to two guests. I love all of the medieval touches like swords and sconces, and the outdoor firepit with tree stump seats is pretty cool, too.
Almost everything in the home is original (even though it was built in 1977!). It boasts plenty of modern touches like high ceilings and plants, but you'll still see lots of Old World-style decor such as a wood-burning stove and tree trunk columns. There are three bedrooms accommodating six total guests, a full bathroom, and a full kitchen.
I featured this property once before, but it's simply too amazing not to mention again. Sleeping two guests in one bedroom, this whimsical hobbit house will transport you straight to Middle Earth.
From the patio with custom landscaping to the painstaking attention to detail throughout the entirety of the home, no stone was left unturned to provide guests with an unforgettable experience.
The bedroom features a handmade round bed and round door leading into the custom-built bathroom. There are also lots of decor pieces that bring the whole theme together seamlessly. Please note that, aside from a coffee maker and refrigerator, there is no way to prepare meals inside the home. However, it is very close to lots of amazing restaurants!
