With over 6,000 animals from more than 600 species, the Houston Zoo is a pretty big place.
Quite a bit of walking is required to see all of the exhibits in one day, so you'll need to refuel often to keep your energy up.
The zoo has three full-service restaurants and several food trucks dishing out incredible grub, so there are plenty of opportunities to quell your appetite.
One of the most popular dining options is Twiga Café, which serves classic favorites like hamburgers, salad, pizza, and snacks such as trail mix and fresh fruit.
While the food is delicious, it isn't even the best part of enjoying a meal here.
The restaurant is directly in front of the giraffe and rhino habitats, so you observe the gentle giants while you eat.
You can see the animals from the indoor dining room, but for the best views, we recommend grabbing a seat on the patio.
This takes the phrase "dinner and a show" to a whole new level.
As the giraffes and rhinos graze alongside you, you can imagine you're all enjoying a meal together.
What a way to reconnect with nature.
You'll find Twiga Café in the African Forest exhibit, between the Southern White Rhino and Masai Giraffe enclosures.
