There are few breakfast foods more comforting than the classic combo of biscuits and gravy, and one of my favorite places to enjoy this hearty dish is Flying Biscuit Cafe. With several locations across Texas and other states (the Memorial City restaurant is pictured below), this down-home eatery has some of the flakiest biscuits and the creamiest sausage gravy you'll ever taste. Plus, they also offer lots of other fun takes on the humble biscuit, so you can rest assured you'll leave the table happy and full.

Calling all breakfast lovers! Flying Biscuit Cafe is an Atlanta-based restaurant that first opened in 1993, and it has expanded to nearly 30 locations in six different states.
Despite having such a wide reach, the restaurant still has a cozy, neighborhood feel that's reminiscent of dining in your mom or grandma's kitchen.
Plus, the decor is colorful, the atmosphere is lively and upbeat, and the vibe is just so incredibly hip and cool.
When it comes to the menu, biscuits are the star of the show (hence the restaurant's name).
Breakfast is served all day long, and if it's your first time here, I recommend going with a classic: a biscuit topped with fluffy scrambled eggs and the most delicious chicken sausage gravy you'll ever taste.
The gravy is rich, creamy, and oh-so-luscious - the perfect compliment to the flaky, buttery biscuit,
One bite, and you'll be counting down the hours until lunch, when your taste buds will beg you to come back and get another.
If you prefer your biscuits sans-gravy, there are plenty of breakfast options where the biscuit is a side instead of the main course.
You can even get a biscuit breakfast sandwich!
And if you love gravy but not biscuits, how about the "Hot Dirty Bird?"
A house-made waffle is topped with spicy chicken tenders, two over-medium eggs, and chicken sausage gravy. Yum!
You can also get lunch options such as burgers, sandwiches, and even chicken pot pie with a biscuit crust.
Visit the Flying Biscuit Cafe website or the Flying Biscuit Cafe Facebook page for more information, including current hours of operation and a full menu for each location.
Have you ever eaten here? If so, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments section! Don't forget to check out our previous article to learn about a massive indoor amusement park that's just down the road from the restaurant. And if you need a place to stay in Houston, I highly recommend the Post Oak Hotel.
