One of the most incredible aspects of Tennessee is the people. There's something so sweet about the kindness of strangers, the Southern hospitality that opens screen doors and welcomes you inside for a little sweet tea and gossip. The same goes for hot spots like the Tri-Cities Flea Market. Located in Bluff City, Tennessee, the expansive indoor-outdoor facility may not be home, but you'll be welcomed to shop with the same kindness and sit-down-and-stay-awhile attitude. We love how welcoming Tennessee is, and you can cash in on the experience - literally - while shopping antiques and personal offerings at one of the largest flea markets in the state. Learn more below, and maybe get ready for a weekend of good, old-fashioned southern shopping.
If you drive by the Tri-Cities Flea Market in Bluff City, Tennessee, it may not look like much from the outside. Most of the week it's just a tumble of buildings and a parking lot, but come the weekend, this quiet spot becomes a shopping mecca for secondhand aficionados and newbies alike.
The space began with four buildings and 200 vendor spaces when the flea market was first founded in the summer of 1985, and it has since grown to offer more indoor and outdoor spaces than ever. There are also seven areas that are outfitted for selling food and snacks.
With 30 acres of space filled with vendors who offer their own individual wares, there is plenty of opportunity for treasure hunting. There are new vendors weekly, and we'd recommend chatting with some of the long-term locals for tips and tricks.
Can't you just imagine the hidden gems you'll find on your shopping trip?
There is both indoor and outdoor space, like the 8 large indoor buildings, 5 open air buildings, and so you can shop for local fresh goods and wares throughout the year as well. We'd recommend coming by during the summertime when fruits and veggies are available in bulk.
There's nothing like buying local and enjoying time with Tennesseans come the weekend time. What a gift to wander the aisles and take home new-to-you treasures.
The Tri-Cities Flea Market is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Not too far from this lovely flea market, you can find living history. Sinking Creek Church is the oldest church in the state found right in Elizabethton with a fascinating story of why it still stands to this day.
