Ever since becoming an "It" city, Nashville has been absolutely stuffed to the gills with more people than you can shake a stick at. With so many people, it's harder and harder to escape from the crowds and enjoy the natural beauty in Tennessee. One farm in Murfreesboro is trying to encourage just that: for folks to come out, enjoy the outdoors, and increase their appreciation for agriculture. How do they do that, you ask? By planting the largest sunflower field you've ever seen. It's one of the best sunflower farms near Nashville, and we are obsessed. Check it out!
Batey Farms in Murfreesboro is only a short drive outside of Nashville, but it's easily one of the most overlooked places in the area. So if you find yourself in Music City asking "Where are there sunflower fields near me in Tennessee?" Then this is a great place to start.
Each year, the farm plants a crop of sunflowers that can cover as many as 40 acres! If you don't know what that means, practically, just keep scrolling.
40 acres is a lot of sunflowers, and that's an immense understatement. It's one of the most beautiful and unique sights in all of Tennessee.
The sunflowers grow all spring and summer until they bloom in full sometime between early July and mid-August.
To keep updated, you'll need to visit the Batey Farms website.
Entrance to the flower farm is free, but donations are appreciated. The cost to pick the flowers has historically been $1 per stem, but this number is subject to change.
All of the proceeds from the donations and flower sales go to further agriculture in Rutherford county, as if you didn't already have enough motivation to check out this amazing farm.
