This quirky little stay can be found on a 50-acre farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It’s located on the property of a wedding and event venue known as Cheval Manor, but once you arrive you may feel like you’ve left the world behind. Here you can see how the exterior of the property has been thoughtfully designed with benches and multiple seating areas to welcome gatherings for morning coffee or an afternoon glass of sweet tea. You can just imagine kicking off your shoes and living like a hobbit, although they never wear shoes anyways.
The house itself is made of mud, so keep in mind that you may find a few little critters during your trip. The hosts of the wonderful structure liken a stay at this hobbit house to a camping trip, so be ready to rough it with a little sprinkle of magic. After all to get the full middle ages fantasy feel you need to immerse yourself in that world. Things were simpler and yet filled with so much wonder!
Once you open that darling round door, you’ll be treated to a cozy interior complete with a fireplace and micro-kitchen. There are no hot plates or utensils available, only coffee mugs, so make sure you plan ahead for your meals. There is a small fridge, though there is no freezer. The electric fireplace provides warmth in the winter and a window AC unit keeps the home cool during the summer. You won't be exactly roughing it with amenities like this the halflings of the Shire would be rather jealous.
The home sleeps two, and there is a half-bath located just outside the living space. Keep in mind that there is no shower, but the working bathroom does provide a much-needed respite when nature calls. Bed linens are provided, as are soap and toilet paper, and the mini coffee maker is perfect for greeting a fresh morning. There is even a clock inside to let you know when it's time to eat breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper. If you want to stay in a place that is fitting for a hobbit you mine as well eat like one too.
The hobbit house is darling, but the open-air gathering spaces at this stay are truly second to none. There is an outdoor dining area, as well as a fire pit and a handful of chairs and benches scattered across the property. Hobbits are all about gathering together and fellowship so this space is absolutely fitting.
Can’t you just imagine swapping stories and telling creepy tales around this fire pit? Make sure you bring some marshmallows and a few toasting sticks for a fun evening! Among the storytellings of adventures of old, you can also break into celebratory songs just like the joyful halflings themselves.
There is free parking on-site and the single-level home has no stairs, so it is easily accessible to most visitors.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. I wanted to shine the light on this gem of a state park because there is a lot of beauty to enjoy within its borders. There are plenty of features about this park that make it stand out from the others like the raised camping platforms that are located right on the water’s edge. So let's dive in for a closer look at Edgar Evins State Park.

Edgar Evins State Park can be found in Silver Point, Tennessee, which is close to Cookeville and about an hour east of Nashville. The park’s focal point is Center Hill Lake.
All activities revolve around this natural beauty, including the camping sites. One of the highlights of the campground is the elevated platforms right on the water's edge where you can tent and RV. I like the unique way the sites were created to thoughtfully make good use of the views of the lake while still immersing guests in nature.
There are a variety of sites that accommodate smaller campers as well as bigger ones. Not every site is located right on the water, so make sure you reserve a spot early, though the sites found inland still have the same unique platform to camp on.
If you don’t have camping equipment, no problem -- this campground has cabins, too! The cabins are designed in a split-level style and offer all of the comforts of home while still providing great views of the lake.
Like every good state park, there are plenty of options when it comes to hiking. Most of the trails also make good use of the lake’s scenery by offering quiet places where you can soak in the view.
Of course, one of the best ways to enjoy this park is to get out on the water. There are three boat launches for you to bring your own vessel of choice and take to the water. There is something inherently peaceful about the stillness of the water as you glide through the mirror-like water.
