Tennessee is known for biscuits and fried chicken, but you can't snug the south on a solid baked good. The Dutch Maid Bakery is located in Tracy City, Tennessee and has quite the reputation when it comes to the history of the state and delicious pastries. Whether you live in the area or are looking for a bit of a day trip, this is a fun spot to hit up on the weekends or even on your way home from work. There's nothing like fresh baked bread!
Tracy City is a tiny town located in rural Tennessee, and is home to the Dutch Maid Bakery. It holds a place on the state's historic registry as the oldest family-owned bakery in the state.
Family recipes have been passed down for years and still find their way into the storefront. Come to snag a few pastries or a loaf of bread, maybe a homemade cake for your family events. There's nothing like a bit of Tennessee in the heart of your home.
The bakery is currently owned by Cindy Day, how has managed to infuse the historic space with her own contemporary spin. We'd recommend trying out her Black Olive-Roasted Red Pepper Bread if you're looking to add something fun and festive to the dinner table.
Every loaf of bread is hand-rolled, and the bakery is stocked full of old-school machinery that keeps the integrity of every baked good that makes its way to the counter.
You can find the Dutch Maid Featured by Tennessee Crossroads, the Southern Lady, TN Home and Farm, and as a featured stop on the Pie in the Sky Trail.
