Tennessee is full of fun activities for the whole family, whether you're looking to indulge in a walk through the mountains or perhaps a hometown festival. The Great Smoky Mountains tend to provide a perfect backdrop for true Tennessee enjoyment, and the fairly unknown Cane Creek Falls Suspension Bridge is no different. Tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains is a stunning feat of natural beauty and southern heart: Cane Creek Falls.
The hike to Cane Creek Falls is actually quite short and fairly quiet. At only a half mile, this out-and-back trail near Pikeville is easy for all sorts of hikers, with only a 42-foot elevation gain.
The Cane Creek Suspension Bridge itself is roughly 150 feet long and stretches 20 feet above the rushing rapids.
It connects the trail to Fall Creek Falls, which is actually the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi River. With multiple gorge overlooks along the trail, there's no reason not to keep going!
Make sure you walk across the bridge, folks. It's safe and exactly why you took this hike anyway. It's great for all skill levels, so even younger folks are bound to fall in love.
Are you brave enough to wander? Visitors rave about what a neat spot it is to take adventurous children, and maintain that the trail is beautifully cared for and safe.

If you haven't been, we'd highly recommend a moment spent pondering the world atop the Cane Creek Falls Suspension bridge. Come to hike, walk and bird watch.
Although the trail is open all year 'round it's best visited from April to October. Make sure to visit and indulge in some fall foliage, Tennessee!
