If you’re a die-hard fan of Halloween or all things spooky, Dead by Dawn, the world’s first haunt-themed interactive B&B, belongs on your bucket list. A mix between a B&B and a haunted house, Dead by Dawn practically guarantees guests an unforgettable stay, which likely won’t involve much sleep. Take a look:
A haunt-themed B&B that’s not for the faint of heart, Dead by Dawn Dead and Breakfast opened in Manitowoc in 2015.
Bound to deliver some heart-stopping frights, the inn’s owners ran a haunted house for 25 years.
Open year-round, the B&B features three horrifyingly-themed rooms and lots of terror-filled overnight activities.
The fun begins immediately after check-in with unhappy hour, which is held in the on-site watering hole, The Shrunken Head.
After unhappy hour, guests are free to explore Manitowoc, but must be back at the B&B by 11 p.m., when the doors are locked for the night. At 12 a.m., it’s lights out – and that’s when the truly frightening fun begins.
As darkness overtakes the inn's chambers, things will begin to go bump in the night. The type of terror experienced depends on which of the B&B's three rooms you're in.
Each room is meticulously designed to petrify patrons. There’s the Nightmare Room, which forces guest to embrace their fears and uncertainties, the Pirate Room, which holds the secrets of the deep dark waters, and the Coulrophobia Room, which is specially designed for those with a paralyzing fear of clowns.
