If there's one thing you can say about life in West Virginia, it's that we know how to enjoy the outdoors. We've got some really incredible state and national parks here, and even when we're traveling to enjoy a vacation, you can bet you're never going to be too far from some spectacular scenery. If you're looking for a perfectly rustic getaway that'll make you feel like a kid again, we've found it. Walton is a small town of about 1,500 residents tucked away in the western portion of the state. It's there that you'll find a remarkably whimsical treehouse Airbnb where you can live out your childhood fantasies of being in the Swiss Family Robinson, just in the woods of West Virginia instead of on a tropical island near the West Indies.
The treehouse can sleep up to four guests. This is a perfect getaway for those who don't want the luxury of an expensive resort but prefer something a little more glamorous and unique than pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground. You'll enjoy outdoor Wi-Fi, a coffee station, and a grill, and the treehouse even has electricity.
I count the fact that there are mattresses as a huge win over a traditional campsite; my back isn't what it used to be, and sleeping in a sleeping bag can be rough!
My favorite aspect of this treehouse Airbnb is the hanging hammock swings. These look like such a cozy spot for curling up with a good book, and since they overlook the woods, you're sure to spot some critters if you sit here quietly. Don't forget to bring your binoculars if you're a fan of bird-watching.
While there's not a bathroom within the treehouse, there is a nearby outhouse with a propane-heated shower and camp-style toilet.
The treehouse is tucked away on a 100-acre farm, and as an Airbnb guest, you'll have full access to the farm's wooded trails and grounds. There's even a fishing pond if you'd like to try your luck with a pole, and a swimming hole if you're visiting during the summer months.
The farm's grotto area looks like absolute heaven. From the waterfall to the massive undercut cave, it's the perfect place to sit and relax and enjoy the magnificent natural surroundings.
This looks like such a delightful place to stay!
