For the most part, camping is a seasonal activity here in Washington. Some of our most popular campsites are at their best when the days are long and the weather is warm. That being said, some parts of the Evergreen State do experience mild winters, and camping can be a peaceful off-season activity if you have the right equipment (or an RV).
Sequim Bay State Park is a hidden gem that hosts campers all year long, and the area is beautiful in any season.
Sequim Bay State Park is a rugged marine park located on the west side of Sequim Bay.
The 92-acre park has 4,909 feet of coastline, and the bay access alone makes it worth visiting.
Sequim is a gorgeous year-round destination, but it's especially popular during lavender season.
The lavender fields here are absolutely dreamy. But if you want to avoid the crowds, you may want to visit before June and after August.
Sequim Bay State Park has quite a few amenities besides easy bay access.
Miles of walking paths and biking trails wind their way through the park, and the three kitchen shelters are useful for campers and daytime visitors alike. The park also has a basketball court, a tennis court, a baseball field, and a horseshoe pit.
Campsites here are divided into three loops, one of which is best suited for RVs. 26 sites come with full RV hook-ups.
The campsites are all hidden among the trees and generously spaced, so you'll have a little peace and privacy when you camp here.
The two loops at the northern end have centrally located restrooms and showers, while the southern loop sits near the playground and interpretive center.
Parts of the park are also used as a day-use only area, so you're always welcome to spend time here even if you aren't camping.
One thing is certain -- you'll never be bored camping here.
The Olympic Peninsula is a breathtaking place, and we're lucky to have it in our own backyard.
