Do you ever long for the days when you enjoyed Sunday dinner at Grandma's house? There was no place more comfortable and welcoming, and the comfort food was tasty, too. There's a restaurant in Ogden Canyon that's just like visiting Grandma's house. It's charmingly old fashioned and has delicious food. Check out Gray Cliff Lodge:
Gray Cliff Lodge was originally built as a summer home, back in 1912. It became a restaurant in 1932, and Neal and Lois Sniggs bought it in 1965. The restaurant has been in the family ever since.
Step inside, and you'll feel right at home. This cozy restaurant has its dining areas situated in the various rooms of the home, and each is decorated like an old-fashioned mountain retreat home.
Check out the old-school wood paneling, lace tablecloths, and homey decor throughout.
The porch is a popular dining spot, especially when the weather is nice.
Bring your appetite and tuck into tasty comfort food like fried chicken, steak, prime rib, and more.
The restaurant is only open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm. to 10 p.m.. There's a delicious all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday dinner from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Just like at Grandma's house, you'll want to finish everything on your dinner plate so you can enjoy dessert. Homemade pie, cake, bread pudding, and Farr's ice cream are all on the menu.
While you're at Gray Cliff Lodge, check out the Ski Museum!
It has tons of skis, all arranged in chronological order, starting with a pair that's more than 100 years old. Posters and newspaper articles line the walls too, providing tidbits about local ski history. It's free to check out this incredible collection of skis and memorabilia, and you're welcome to pop in even if you're not dining at the restaurant.
Learn more about the history of Gray Cliff Lodge on its website, and make sure to follow its Facebook page for the latest updates.
