We already told y'all about Son's Island, a paradisiacal oasis you'd have no idea is right here in Texas. They've opened another waterfront campground directly on the San Marcos River, providing guests with an easy access point for kayaking and tubing. Spend the night in a luxury tent or rent a two-story cabana for the day - either way, the whole family is guaranteed to enjoy this hidden gem travel destination.
Located just 13 miles east of New Braunfels, Blue River Camp is a tropical paradise right here in Texas. With easy access to pristine, turquoise water, it's a perfect family-friendly summer travel destination.
Authentic riverside cabanas are made with actual palm leaves and feature a picnic table, hammock, lounge chairs, and BBQ pit. The baseline fee includes entry for eight people, but up to 15 can be accommodated.
Tubers can take a quick shuttle ride upstream before enjoying a leisurely, two-hour float. Kayaks are also available for rent, letting paddlers navigate back to their own cabana.
Spend the day swimming, fishing, or playing games like beach volleyball, cornhole, and horseshoes. Wind down when evening rolls around with a family cookout and homemade s'mores while relaxing under the far-reaching pecan tree shade.
Those looking to extend their stay overnight can reserve a luxury, 14x9 tent. It sleeps four people, boasting two cots with queen mattresses, a bedside table, two lanterns, and fans. If you also rented a cabana, after-hours use is permitted.
Address: 2769 Sherrill Road, Kingsbury, TX 78638. Daytime cabanas can be rented from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tent reservations take place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
