Texas is a camper's paradise. If you love sleeping outdoors, there's no better state to live in. There are only a couple of places, however, where you can stay on a floating campsite in Texas, and one of them is Sea Rim State Park.
Renting out this Sea Rim State Park floating campsite is signing up for a guaranteed great time. Keep reading for more information about this unique camping in Texas opportunity, such as included amenities and opportunities for fun.
The campsite is just two miles from the boat ramp, so you won't have to paddle very far at all. Feel free to bring your own shallow draft boat or rent a canoe or kayak at the park if you don't own one.
You have to provide your own 5-gallon bucket and a solid/liquid waste bag with neutralizing enzymes, but the bag and bucket can be purchased at the park store. Containerized fuel stoves are permitted for cooking, but no ash-producing fires are allowed.
It only costs $15 per night to camp here (plus the daily park entrance fee) - a pretty good deal considering you get to feel as if the entire Gulf is yours. Up to four people can fit comfortably on the site.
The campsite usually opens up in early summer. It's never too early (or late) to start planning when you want to visit! Considering there's only one floating site available, reservations are often made well in advance.
Late arrivals are required to camp on the beach until the park office opens the following day.
Sea Rim State Park is located at 19335 S Gulfway Drive, Sabine Pass, TX 77655.
