When was the last time you visited Houston? If it's been a while (or even if it hasn't), we've put together the perfect overnight adventure - all you have to do is book your stay at the best hotel in Houston, Texas, hop in the car, and go! After enjoying some of the city's top attractions (the Houston Zoo, Minute Maid Park, the Galleria, and more), you'll head back to the Marriott Marquis Houston for a restful night's sleep. With a rooftop pool deck, several restaurants, and luxury accommodations, it's definitely one of my favorite hotels in Texas, and I know you'll have an unforgettable stay.
You have a full day of exploring on your hands, so get started bright and early at the world-famous Houston Zoo.
The second-most visited zoo in the United States, this internationally acclaimed destination houses more than 6,000 animals from over 600 species. Whether you want to feed giraffes or explore the Galápagos Islands, there are so many unique exhibits to enjoy.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is within walking distance of the zoo, so you can be there in no time.
Here, you'll see a mixture of rotating and permanent exhibits covering everything from ancient Egypt to sharks to dinosaurs. Learning has never been so much fun!
If you have kids in tow you might consider checking out the Children's Museum of Houston.
Boasting 90,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, this fun and educational museum lets kids explore different careers, perform science experiments, and more.
No visit to Space City is complete without spending some time at Space Center Houston.
The official visitor center of the NASA Johnson Space Center, this immersive museum has over 400 attractions about all things outer space. You can even meet an astronaut on select dates!
How does a little shopping spree sound? Whether you just want to window shop or leave with armfuls of bags, The Galleria spans 2.4 million square feet and features over 400 stores and restaurants.
Don't miss the ice skating rink at the center of it all - it's a pastime that Houstonians have enjoyed for decades.
Before you head to the hotel for the night, I have one more stop for you: Minute Maid Park.
The proud home of the Houston Astros, the park is always buzzing with energy during baseball season (and beyond). If you're visiting in the off-season, you can still take a tour of the ballpark for a unique, behind-the-scenes look. Tours run daily year-round. You can also check out StubHub to get tickets to Minute Maid Park events.
Whew, what a day - and it isn't over yet. Your hotel, the iconic Marriott Marquis Houston, isn't just a place to spend the night; it's a destination in and of itself and one of the best hotels in Texas.
The hotel is best known for its Texas-shaped rooftop lazy river that's lined with lounge chairs and cabanas. You'll feel like you're on a tropical vacation, but you're actually in the heart of downtown Houston.
Also on the rooftop is an infinity pool that directly overlooks the city. These views simply can't be beaten.
When it comes to the actual rooms, you have a variety of options depending on your budget and party size. From standard guest rooms to luxury suites, there's an accommodation to suit anyone and everyone who stays here.
There's only one remaining question: will you opt for a pool view or a city view?
You don't even have to leave the hotel to satisfy your appetite. There are six on-site dining and drinking options, ranging from an upscale Mexican restaurant to a sports bar to an al fresco rooftop eatery.
Visit the Marriott website for more information about the best hotel in Houston, Texas, including current nightly rates and availability, and/or to book your stay.
