We are certainly blessed in Tennessee with amazing Southern weather that makes the Great Outdoors fun all year round! Our crown jewel is, of course, the Smoky Mountains, and finding camping near the Smokies is critical to enjoying our great national park. Fortunately, no matter the season, the Gatlinburg East/Smoky Mountain KOA Holiday is always open and we couldn’t ask for a better camping experience in Tennessee.
My family travels a lot and along our many adventures, KOAs stand out as our favorite places to lay our head for the night.
The affordable cost, quality, and versatility keep us coming back time and time again. Even when we are going somewhere new there are just certain features that you can count on beginning there so we are always happy to book a night stay.
At Gatlinburg East KOA, there are many different ways to stay, per usual with many KOAs. They have a newly opened extension of their campground adding many different campsites to enjoy.
Spacious and wooded tent sites, which are some of my favorites, offer privacy but are still close to the bathhouse (a big perk when camping with kids!). They also come with water and electricity, two important factors I look for so I can charge up cameras and fill up our water bottles for the next day.
For a more luxurious stay at this campsite, book a night in one of the Dulux Cabins. The all-inclusive cabins have everything your family will need during your stay including a full kitchen, your own private bathroom, and beds enough room to sleep up to eight.
Located in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains, you can expect to see a little snow during the winter. That would be enough to close the doors of some campgrounds, but at Gatlinburg East KOA, you can camp all year round!
The snow simply makes for an enhanced experience. Huddle around the campfire or warm up in your RV to escape the chilly nights, but know there are plenty of great adventures awaiting you in Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains.
The campground can be *the* destination, with plenty to do without even having to adventure outside of the property. On a hot summer day, chill by the pool or challenge a family member to a lawn game. With so much to do inside the campground and just down the road, you can easily make this a destination for your next Smoky Mountain adventure!
Doesn’t this sound like the perfect place for some camping near the Smokies? Head on over to the Gatlinburg East KOA website and book your next trip. Need an RV? Check out our friends at RVShare to rent one for your trip.
