Going camping is one of the world's simplest pleasures, at least in the United States. If you've never pitched a tent and spent the night in the great outdoors, well, then you're probably the kind of person that springs for a cabin. And if you're the kind of person that springs for a cabin? Well, you're in the right place, because Tims Ford State Park has some of the best cabins for rent in the state park system.
Tims Ford State Park is also known as Tims Ford State Rustic Park, and it's known as one of the most beautiful waterfront parks in the state.
There are 2,200 acres within the park, with a majority of the acreage along the waterline. It's a popular place to camp and visit during both the winter and warmer months, with affordability campsites and cabins for rent on the property.
Tims Ford offers what is known as a "deluxe cabin" by the Tennessee State Park system, whcih means each cabin has central heating and air, television, bedrooms and bathrooms. There are kitchens equipped for cooking and even an outdoor grill and fireplace.
Most cabins sleep 6-10 people, which means you don't have to be stingy with the guest list. Rates run anywhere from $115 to $170, though there are discounts available.
You can also find deluxe cabins on Roan Mountain, at Pickett, Nathan Bedford Forest and Natchez Trace state parks as well as Tims Ford.
Come to hike and fish, stay for the cozy nights attended to only by the chirp of crickets. No tents and crazy set up and tear down are necessary here! This is where you fall in love with your state all over again. Where you take a deep breath, close your eyes, and relax.
