The shoreline is fairly underdeveloped so you'll feel as if you've stepped back in time, whether you're out hiking or boating on the bluest waters you've ever seen.
There are multiple campsites available whether you're looking for a more primitive experience or have an RV. You'll want to visit www.recreation.gov to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid a fine.
The lake itself, known officially as the Dale Hollow Reservoir, is a man-made lake that was formed after the damming of the Obey River.
The water is crystal clear, making it perfect for a refreshing dip with friends or a fishing destination. Some declare the trout fishing at Dale Hollow is the best in Tennessee AND Kentucky!
