Nashville may be a place for bachelorette parties and history seekers, but what about you rabid campers out there? You need a place to visit during the warmer months, you need a few favorite places to go and campgrounds to mark as your favorites. We hear you, we heard you, we have a list. And it's fabulous. Each of these hotspots are under two hours from Nashville, so pack up the cooler and let's giddyup!

10. J. Percy Priest Dam & Reservoir

Percy Priest Lake has over 180 campsites spread over three different campgrounds: Seven Points near Hermitage, Poole Knobs near La Vergne, and Anderson Road near Antioch. Reservations are recommended at each campground, and prices generally range from $14 to $24. (Multiple Entrance Points)

9. Fall Creek Falls State Park - Spencer

With over 200 campsites available in five different areas, Fall Creek Falls has something for everyone. Sites range from 45-foot RV sites to back-country sites on overnight backpacking trails. Rates range from $14 to $31 (10821 Park Road)

8. Cedars of Lebanon State Park - Lebanon

While there is no primitive camping at Cedars of Lebanon, this park does have the benefit of being open year-round. And even if you're not in the mood to tent camp in December, there are nine cabins that sleep six people each available for rent. (328 Cedar Forest Road)

7. Bledsoe Creek State Park - Gallatin

There are fifty-four campsites at Bledsoe Creek State Park, and each campsite is outfitted with lanterns, a fire ring and picnic table. The park borders Old Hickory Lake, and there are two boat ramps you can use if you're planning to spend the day on the water. (400 Zieglers Fort Road)

6. Montgomery Bell State Park - Burns

Located just West of Nashville, Montgomery Bell has 110 campsites in its idyllic landscape. Like most Tennessee State Parks, their prices range from $14 to $31, making this an affordable but beautiful place to get away. (1020 Jackson Hill Road)

5. Big South Fork National River and Recreational Area - Oneida

Big South Fork has five campgrounds across the park, two of which are in Tennessee. Bandy Creek Campground features highly developed sites, while Station Camp Campground is only accessible by horse trail.

4. Edgar Evins State Park - Silver Point

Edgar Evins State Park is made up of 6,000 acres, a stunning representation of Tennessee's exuberant state beauty. There are sixty tent and trailer sites that you can rent from $10.50 to $31.25, and they come with both electrical and water hookups. There are eleven miles of hiking trails in the park as well, so it'll be easy to tire yourself out before ghost stories around the fire. (1630 Edgar Evins State Park Road)

3. Rock Island State Park - Rock Island

This an 883 acre park is simply bursting with waterways, located between Center Hill Lake, Caney Fork and both the Rocky and Collins Rivers. There are twenty campsites available for the entirety of the year, and you can rent them for between $20-$31.25. There are many scenic overlooks, gorgeous trails and stunningly deep pools for you to ogle at during your stay, as well. Bring that camera! (82 Beach Road)

2. Standing Stone State Park - Hilam

Standing Stone State Park has more than eight miles of hiking trails, great for day hiking and a perfect prelude to a night of camping. There are thirty-six campsites available for use, as well as seventeen historic and modernized cabins, each of which can be reserved up to a year in advance. (1674 Standing Stone Park Highway)

1. Virgin Falls State Natural Area - Sparta

There's nothing cushy on this end - you're really roughin' it! Some Tennesseans have said that is the most beautiful place they'e ever hiked or camped, however, so we're going to say that's a good reason to try it out. Do note: a hike to Virgin Falls comes in at roughly nine miles, and should be considered a strenuous hike. Make sure you're well rested and prepared for this one, folks.
